Fireplaces create challenges that do not exist with a standard drywall wall. The mounting surface may be brick, stone, tile or a framed chase. The mantel depth, outlet position, viewing angle and heat from the fireplace also affect the installation plan.
Before drilling, we review the wall material and the desired TV height. We use hardware suited to the surface, check that the bracket supports the television and level the screen before the final safety check.
Brick, stone and tile mounting
Each masonry surface behaves differently. Brick and concrete require masonry-rated anchors and tools. Natural or manufactured stone may have uneven faces, while tile requires careful drilling to reduce the risk of damage. Photos of the fireplace and TV model help us prepare the correct equipment before arriving.
Planning the right viewing height
A TV above a fireplace is often higher than a standard wall-mounted screen. We consider your seating distance, mantel, mount type and preferred viewing angle. A tilting or full-motion bracket may improve comfort in rooms where the television must sit higher.
